FAASTeam Meeting January 13, 2011

Happy New Year Everyone,

Just a quick reminder that our next Rep meeting is just around the corner.  It is scheduled for Thursday, January 13, 2011, and will be held here at the MSP FSDO @ 6:00 PM.  You may also join the meeting via telephone.  To access the meeting call (877) 419-1765, when prompted dial the pass code 4188, followed by the # sign.

Everyone, please check you account and, specifically, your "last trained date".  If your last trained date is approaching one year in the past or is over one year old then please plan to attend this meeting.  Rep's are required to go through training annually and attending a quarterly Rep meeting qualifies for this training.  If you have any questions about your training date, please feel free to call me.

We will discuss the Safety Stand Down during the meeting.

For fear of sounding like just another Christmas card . . .

The Holiday season is upon us once again and the year is winding down.  Alan and I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all the FAASTeam Representatives that have contributed to another banner year here in Minnesota.  You never cease to amaze me!  While this year is not quite done yet, it looks like we are going to do about 160 safety training events this calendar year.  That is an amazing accomplishment and it is all because of you.  This program lives and breaths because of your passion and energy.

As I am fond of saying to those that attend our events, "you have far more influence over your friends and neighbors than I or anyone in the FAA ever will".  Not only is this true for them but it is even more true for you.  Your efforts here in the FAASTeam carry great weight in the aviation community and to see how you have taken advantage of this opportunity is truly inspiring to me.

One thing I would like everyone to be thinking about for next year is . . . "how can we touch those airmen that do not feel the need to attend one of our events".  Let's make this our primary objective for 2011.  We will touch on this again at our Rep meeting in January.

Wishing you a happy and healthy Holiday season.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

James Niehoff
